The aim of the OCN NI Level 2 Award in Awareness of Mental Health and Well-being qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to work in roles that support mental health and well-being. The learners will also develop an awareness of mental health interventions and support strategies.
The objectives of the OCN NI Level 2 Award in Awareness of Mental Health and Well-being qualification are to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to enable them to:
Understand mental health and mental illness.
Understand the impact of mental illness.
Be aware of mental health interventions and support.
Understand the person-centred approach to mental health improvement and the legislative framework.

All tutors are qualified and experienced counsellors. This underpins the authenticity of teaching and learning activities as students engage with practitioners who understand the challenges and opportunities of the counselling role.
