You will have 24/7 access to our online library catalogue, i-Discover as a student or staff member.
You can find a wide range of books and journals across all subject areas in the Study Centres. Most of these items can be borrowed with your student or staff ID card. Use i-Discover to check availability and location.
You can also access e-books and e-journals through i-Discover and download them to a college computer or your own device. Our Virtual Learning Environment, Canvas, is available online 24/7 both on campus and remotely.
You will also have access to subject-specific databases such as SPORTDiscus, Academic Search Elite, and British Standards Online. You may need your college login to access these.

1 Newtownabbey and 2 Ballymena Study Centres are open to 18:00 on the specified days.
We are here to support you with your research needs and help you find suitable resources. The Study Centres are designed to help you build essential digital information literacy skills to prepare for your next steps, whether that’s employment or further study. Our experienced and friendly staff are available throughout the academic year to assist you.

Other services available include:
• Computer facilities on every campus.
• Wi-Fi in all Study Centres and throughout the college.
• Library Inductions for all first-year students.
• Curriculum workshops to support your learning, enhance your digital literacy and develop your ICT skills.
• Inter-Library Loan service so you do not have to travel to another campus library. Staff can retrieve resources from any of our Study Centres, upon request and subject to prior notice.
• Self-service printing, scanning and photocopying.
• Binding and laminating, upon request. Please note, heavy bound may take longer to complete.
Throughout the year, you can take part in events like the annual Reading Challenge, which promotes reading to improve literacy, confidence, and well-being. Certificates and incentives are given to participants. Many find it a very rewarding experience.
We also support various Student Services campaigns and digital learning initiatives, in collaboration with the College’s Creative and Innovative Team. These events showcase new and existing resources and technology developments, including Artificial Intelligence.
